first_img1 Potter will take charge at the Liberty Stadium next season Swansea are set to appoint Graham Potter as their new manager after finalising a compensation package with Swedish club Ostersund for his services.Englishman Potter has been in charge of Ostersund since December 2010, but the 43-year-old will complete a move to Wales early next week.“Swansea City can confirm a compensation package has been finalised with Ostersund for the services of Graham Potter,” said a club statement.“The club has also agreed personal terms with Potter along with his assistant Billy Reid and recruitment analyst Kyle Macauley, who are set to join him at the Liberty.Swansea’s seven-season stay in the Premier League came to an end last month.The Welsh club decided not to take up the option of extending Carlos Carvalhal’s short-term contract after the Portuguese failed to save them from dropping into the Sky Bet Championship.Paul Clement, Bob Bradley, Francesco Guidolin and Garry Monk have also been in the Swansea hot-seat since 2014.Potter, who played for Stoke and West Brom, has been of interest to several English clubs due to his success at Ostersund.He led them from the fourth to the top tier and Ostersund won the Swedish Cup in 2017.That saw Ostersund qualify for the Europa League last season, where they reached the last 32 of the competition.Potter oversaw a 2-1 victory at Arsenal but they bowed out of the competition 4-2 on aggregate.last_img read more
