first_imgAIB has confirmed it is investigating a fraud at a popular ATM machine in Letterkenny.The popular ATM machine is Letterkenny was hacked into recently.A customer had his card ‘skimmed’ at the ‘hole-in-the-wall’ cash outlet at Dunnes Stores at lower Main Street.The gang managed to get the details for the card and then attempted to use it for numerous transactions across Europe. They even tried to buy products from Bloomingdales in New York with the debit card.The pass-link machine is used hundreds of times each day in the Cathedral Town.The AIB contacted the man just minutes after the attempt to use his card was made to make him aware of the incident.It is understood the machine has been investigated by AIB software engineers and is working again.
